It’s Giving Tuesday, an international day of charitable donations that follow Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I thought it only fitting to share one of my favorite gift guides of the season today – gifts that give back! Gifts that give back are from organizations that give back to communities around the globe when their products are purchased.
I’ve made it a must to give gifts from the retailers on this list for the last few years and this year is no different. I love these missions so much that I frequently purchase items for my own use.
The Giving Keys
I’m obsessed with this one! Every Giving Key product purchased supports job creation for those transitioning out of homelessness.
The Giving Keys traditional pieces are key-shaped and engraved with a word that embodies something you need at the time – peace, strength, love, etc. – and wear it. Further, they encourage you to pass it on to somebody else in your life when you no longer need it but they might.
If necklaces aren’t your thing, they also have a large selection of bracelets and earrings, along with keychains. They constantly have new and interesting collections coming out, like their best friend collection, the wedding collection, and the matte black collection.
Out of Print
My Out of Print sweatshirt might be the most worn thing in my closet. It is soft, fuzzy, cozy, and absolutely perfect. It’s not too hot or too chilly and it pairs great with jeans or yoga pants. I even wore it to casual Friday at the office and it was a huge hit.
They have totes, sweatshirts, tees, socks, boxers, kids clothes, tons of accessories, and even home stuff. You can also shop by book or author. If you have a teacher or a book nerd in your life, this is the only place you’ll need to shop!
Every purchase helps Out of Print to donate books and support so many important literacy programs worldwide.
There are so many people (including me!) that adore candles and would love to receive a unique candle this Christmas. Instead of hitting the candle aisle at TJ Maxx or Yankee Candles, hop online and give back a bit.
Prosperity Candles has a unique business model – and you can read a lot more about that here – but they support women in areas of conflict around the world.
This company is new to me but I’m looking forward to getting to know it better! They have an impressive amount of candles, including festive travel tins, ones with positive mantras, several holiday gift sets under $50.
