October Goal Setting

It’s hap-happiest season of alll! Ok, so maybe that song was meant to describe the Christmas season, I am so freaking happy it’s fall! Sweaters, coffee, boots, Halloween movies … you can’t go wrong! …especially if your October goals include watching Hocus Pocus while reading the original spooky story master, Edgar Allan Poe. 

October also starts the fourth quarter of the year! Meaning it’s time to really buckle down and make progress. I like to set huge, lofty goals this time of the year. Shoot for the moon and you’ll land among the stars, unless you keep watching Netflix. 

Health & Fitness

My health and fitness goals are ever changing. This month they revolve around consistency! We are taking a week long trip at the end of the month and I’m gearing up to be ready for that!

I’m also getting up earlier, working out in the am, and listening to personal development while I get ready.

I’m currently 90-95% dairy free. I don’t cook or use dairy, but I don’t ask for restaurants not to use butter and such yet. I am avoiding cheese and making substitutions. I decided to go dairy free for multiple reasons. I’ve always been lactose intolerant, but as I get older it gets worse and worse. It’s also started obviously and negatively impacting my skin and giving my lots of tummy troubles. Whenever I have more than negligible amounts dairy, my skin breaks out which often leaves hyperpigmentation marks. I’m still working on transitioning; it’s tough when you don’t have 100% support. Cody supports me completely, but a lot of people in my life think it’s ridiculous.

I recently made the switch back to our amazing mindful eating program and I’m feeling so much better! My mind couldn’t disassociate the other program from past disordered eating habits. Even though the other way of eating is entirely without counting, it still created a lot of food anxiety and fear for me that I try to avoid.

I also have a free, no strings attached accountability and wellness group on Facebook that’s fun and I want to try and have more theme weeks where we learn about a specific subject. Finance & Job Related


Guys. Total transparency: finances have been a huge source of anxiety for me lately. I’ve been working some online side hustles but it feels like it’s never enough. We have that family vacation that honestly turned out to be wayyy more expensive than I expected so … we are really locking down this month. 

I’ve set a schedule to work my side hustles around my day job and I’ve been posting more on Poshmark. I’m even going to try sending stuff to ThredUp. If that pans out positively, I’ll do a little review of my experience. 

I put my two weeks notice in and my last day at my job is the 18th. Despite being anxious about finances, I knew that the stress it was causing me was not worth it in the long run.

My personal October goals are really to just check in with myself and my friends more. We are all at different stages in our lives and tend to fall out of contact easily. 

I’ve also started gratitude journaling, daily affirmations, and goal tracking. I’m interested in the power of manifestation and such. I’ve also been binging personal development books, podcasts, and audiobooks. 

I’ve recently joined two different Instagram classes. One is ongoing and is a monthly membership, the other is a three month class by a women that works on the brand side of the Instagram & influencer game. It’s been incredibly fascinating thus far and I can’t wait to see what I can learn and how much I can grow. 

I’ll probably do a dedicated post to this in 2020, but I’ve decided to start a modified capsule wardrobe. I’m going to spend the rest of the year purging my closets and getting on track with my style/clothing goals. Any new purchases, starting this month, will fit the boundaries I’ve set for myself. I’m silly excited about this. 

My group is also doing Darren Hardy’s Best Year Ever together and I am PUMPED. I half assed it last year and got a completely new mindset, so I can’t wait to see where my life is after I whole ass it!
