I adore this bread! It’s moist, flavorful, and packed full of hidden veggies. Each serving is huge, filling, and has zero added sugar. This apple pie banana bread so easy to tweak if you have dietary restrictions and it’s yummy enough even your kids will love it!
I often have trouble eating enough food each day. I know this isn’t a typical problem, so you may not relate, but I messed up my metabolism when I was younger and I taught my body to not acknowledge hunger cues. Because of this, unless I eat heavily processed foods with a lot of calories – which are usually not so great for me – it’s easy for my body to not get enough each day. I’ve been working on getting all of my food groups in the proper portions each day, and this bread is the result of that.
I based this off of a healthy carrot cake recipe somebody shared in out health club. I can’t wait to send this to her and see if she likes it! This apple pie banana bread is so awesome!
I usually have this for breakfast, after my fasted cardio in the morning. It has a full serving of veggies, two servings of fruit, and counts as a protein, too! I eat mine topped with two tablespoons of peanut butter on top, a tiny drizzle of local honey, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It’s so damn yummy!
Let me know if you try it out! If you are looking to cut calories or sugar, you can omit one or both of the fruit and it’s still delicious! My mom makes it with berries for my niece and that’s a great way to still get your fruit in with less sugar, too.
I make mine in those little flat Pyrex baking containers, but if you have a mini loaf pan, those are perfect for this! If you want to make a large bread or more than one at a time, just multiple the ingredients!

If you follow our health club’s portion fix containers, these fit those to a T! Each loaf is 1 green, 1 yellow, 2 purple, and 1 red. You can remove a purple if you don’t want to eat your fruits at the same time, but I’m not big into fruit so this is what works for me.
You might not be familiar with portion fix, but it’s basically a no-stress way to make sure you are eating the right amount of healthy fats, carbs, veggies, fruits, and proteins. You don’t weigh your food or count calories! It’s fun, is easy to do when eating out or at parties, and helps people learn (or relearn) proper portion sizes!
