Every day, after I’ve been up about 7 hours, I head on down to the bus stop so I can grab my seat on the Struggle Bus Express as it heads down to Afternoon Slump Ave. I’ve got my own seat and everything, ya know? Or – I had my own seat until I found my Glow Juice combo! Now I skip the bus stop because I’ve got a collagen & energy combo that keeps me from struggling!
But in all seriousness, I hit a wall hard af after I’ve been up for about 7 hours. Sometimes it comes earlier if I haven’t had a lot of sleep or I’ve had a lot of heavy carbs (my body doesn’t process carbs well, but I love ’em). Luckily, I came up with this combo last year and it has made me 100% more productive.

I used to try everything when it came time to get out of my slump. Think trenta cold brews, espresso shots, energy drinks, caffeine pills. . . You name, I tried it. And some of them would work until the inevitable crash a few hours later. I pushed on for years in caffeine, crash, repeat spiral.
So I tried something new . . .
I found a plant-based, all-natural pre-workout that only has 100 mg of caffeine per serving. That’s about the same caffeine as 8 oz of coffee (and when did I ever have just 1 cup?). I loved that the caffeine came from green tea and that there’s no artificial colors or sweeteners. People said it helped them improve focus and kept telling me how lost they were without it. One month’s supply was way less than I was spending at Starbucks and on fancy coffee pods, so I didn’t think I had anything to lose.
And OH MY! I’m obsessed with the stuff. It’s so good! I’ve replaced most of my coffee with it. Now I just drink coffee when I want the flavor or we try a new cafe. It also comes in three freaking delicious flavors: lemon, mixed berry, and fruit punch.
I use one scoop about 30 minutes before my workouts and two scoops on really freaking hard workout days.
But, about that Glow Juice . . .
In a blender bottle (because I have, like, 20), I mix one scoop of my energize and two scoops of the Vital Proteins Beauty Collagen in the strawberry lemonade flavor.
I know I didn’t say which flavor of energize I use for this, that’s because they all taste great mixed with the beauty collagen. For a traditional strawberry lemonade flavor, lemon is best. But fruit punch and mixed berry give a fun take on pink lemonade!
I started my love affair with Vital Protein’s collagen years ago and I can’t imagine my life without it.
I’ll be honest, there are two camps on collagen: one believes the hype and one thinks the hype might not be all that it’s cracked up to be. I’m firmly in Camp Hype! I haven’t skipped a day of collagen in three years and I don’t intend to start now!
